Second attempt at Vintage Inches

I am determined not to let 'inches' defeat me - so here is my next attempt this afternoon. The photos are all larger than the actual inches!

These are vintage Japanese drawings - I have added stamped calligraphy and edged the borders.

These two little children were dressed up as clowns - and pretty grim they looked too - so they are my S M I L E duo.

Circa 1920's - a posed wedding photo and a bathing belle - with added stamping and borders

These are my two faux oil paintings. Definitely vintage!

Really vintage - Egyptian wall painting, edged with Kyrlon 22kt gold and stamped images - which are not showing up. The last one is a bit of roaring twenties fun - a 'Show Girl'

I think that these will be OK to send in - so off to put my name down.

Inches again

I thought I would have another go at inches, and if they worked out O.K. I would join a swap.

I should have check the site for details first - but by this time I was in my studio and couldn't be bothered to face the rain to come indoors to find out.

When I did, these were totally wrong. The theme is vintage-and these are vintage stamps - but they don't really fit the criteria and there should be nine and not six.

So off I went to try again.

Waste not want not tag

I had a bit of distress ink left on my crafting mat - and didn't want to waste it - so I swooshed it over a bit of mount board and made a quick Father Christmas tag

Oriental Altered Cardboard Box

Since Thursday I have been busy altering a recycled cardboard box.

It has had several coats of black acrylic paint - each coat has to dry overnight.
The image I scanned from a calendar my daughter - in - law gave me. I printed it out and gave it several coats of clear embossing powder, before attaching it to the lid.

The Japanese calligraphy spells out the seasons - I stamped in gold and embossed it.

Finishing it off with ribbon glued all around the top.
I think I will hang on to this for a few weeks - as I rather like it - and I might do more on a similar theme.

Blog Candy at The Artistic Stamper

If you want a chance to win some blog candy pop over to Artistic Stamper to join in the fun

Jackdaw period.

Hmmm I think I am going through a 'Jackdaw' phase as I seem to be creating all things shiny at the moment, with embossing powders, acetate, and Cosmic Shimmer - this being one of the latter.

Another tag, another size, but on mount board again. I am so glad that I got the offcuts - it really is a nice sturdy surface to work on, and the reverse side of it really absorbs the inks.

I used TH distress re-inkers in lavender and blue for this, then flicked some Cosmic Pearlescence over it with a brush.

I stamped it with a foam stamp (took a chance and bought one second hand and it really is good) then once dry I added the image.

You can not really see the lovely sheen in the photos - but the greyer areas are the shimmery ones. It gives a lovely effect in the light.

Bright and cheerful

I fancied making something bright and cheerful. I didn't know what - so this is what I came up with.

The from the Goddess' plate of images.

I stamped it twice as I wanted to collage on the leaves. I am undecided whether to colour the face flesh colour - or leave it as it is.

I used red, yellow and green inks, and dragged them onto the mount board tag to blend the colours.

I stamped on oak laeaves for the background, just to soften the colours a little.
