Little People

This little lady came from Cornish Heritage Farms and I am just starting out trying to make cards and colour the stamps.

I painted a textured card with distress inks. Stamped the image onto white card and painted it with distress inks (Note to self - must get some Promarkers or Copics)

I then cut it with a die and as there were white gaps, I painted areas with black ink to blend it all in together

Added a shiny black gem to each corner to finish it off.

I have no idea why you are disappointed with this. Its so unbelievably striking and effective. I love the look and feel of it and the way it jumps out at you. I love the colour and background too. Its a stunner my friend, truly it is !!!

ditto what June has said.

Thing is,just because you buy the latest craze doesnt mean it will give you the result you'd hope for - or maybe that just happens to me lol

Don't be so hard on yourself Lottie, I agree with all the previous comments. This is really lovely. Your stamp is so unusual and the colours are just right.

Thank you all for your comments. The reason I felt disappointed was that the painting I did looked so very childish. I have looked at other blogs where people use copic or promarker pens, and they way the colour in is amazing. I used ink, and although I did try and do shading, it seemed to seep so looked more or less the same density of colour.

Practice, practice, practice, LOL

Lottie it is lovely, I wouldnlt change a thing.
If you want to improve your shading there is a You Tube by Glenda Waterworth about making a diorama, watch it as it has a lot of useful help on shading and colouring in it.

From what I gather the pens you mention take a lot of practice to get a good finish, and you need the principals of shading first anyway. I know you think you need them, but really you don't.

Also if using inks you may find the Adirondacks easier to shade with as they are not as dark to start with as the distress.

Anyway it is still a delight
