Here we go!

It's very late, I should be in bed, I've a long day tomorrow, but I felt I just had to make a start on my journal journey.
I have been plucking up courage to do this.

It's going to hurt - really hurt.
I had to desconstruct an old book.
What that really means is that I have to tear it's insides out.
It was as distasteful as gutting a rabbit.

Ouch - it's goes totally 'against the grain' as far as I am concerned.
Would it have been kinder to let it be cremated?
Would it have been less painful?
I have torn it's heart out!

I rescued it from a charity shop
(it was in the 'to be recycled bin' and going cheap)
It was never destined for this.
It's sacrilege of the highest order in my book! (Pardon the pun)

What have I done!
It goes against my upbringing to do this - wreck a book.
It doesn't feel good - it feels like a bad thing to do.
Can I go through with this course?
Am I up for the challenge?
Erm........

Courage, Lottie, courage! You can do this. Carole's class is such fun, you'll be glad you tore up this book.

And its a basic accountancy book those exercises are still valid 'cept they use computers now and a lot of the youngests have no idea what double entry means never mind how to do it! LOL very brave and a fabulous new binding for your journal. xx Zoe

Here's me thinking you are fearless! You big softy you!
What's better than to give something a new life or to put it in the land fill site? No brainer!
Can't wait to see the finished project and the progress bits too!
Go for it Lottie!

LOL, Lottie - I was exactly like that the first time I altered a book but I soon realised that had I not altered it, it would have been consigned to the dustbin!! You've saved its life and you're simply recycling - good for you! Really looking forward to your 'journey'.

I'm with Cath here Lottie. If you hadn't starting altering it the poor book would have been in the bin and destined for another landfill site. This way you are preserving its life and simply adding to the memories of its pages. Enjoy, x

I understand what you are saying Lottie. But with the pages just think of the awesome flowers you could make. Good luck with the course.

Lottie you saved it from being recycled and you are going to breathe new life into it so I look at it as being rescued from the big mulcher machine.
Have courage it will all work out in the end.
