Pyrography wooden box

Thank you to blogger 'Angel of the North' for the technical term for this - something else new I learned today!

This is the finished box

I wasn't happy with the burned pattern on the lid - so decided to change it.

I have used gold Krylon paint around the bevelled edge.

I just have to pluck up the courage to varnish it without messing it up!

Well done, you've made a fab job of this! If you want to blind everyone with science, its technical name is pyrography ;o) (literally "fire picture", I guess)

Lottie this is stunning. I love the pic you chose for the top. Are you doing clear varnish ? I think it will be fabulous with or without the varnish but i know you will do a great job

Knowing you, I suspect the top of the box was fine, except to you but it's your work so that's what matters. What you've done with it is perfect for the rest of the box and it's a beautiful piece.
