Book Cover

Over on TGIF the challenge is to make a book - so I think I have done this by the 'skin of my teeth'

Oh and there is one on the Objet Dart Challenge too!

I have made the covers of a book - but not made the book yet. This is the front.

I can't decide whether I need to add some colour here and there to the lady.

Please click on the images to get a closer look.

Close up of top right corner

Bottom left corner

Using the Tim Holtz mask on Japanese newspaper - embossing and varnishing - gives it a nice texture but makes it hard to photograph

I have just got to mount it on even thicker card - ditto the back cover - and it will be ready for the inside pages.

wow the texture is amazing - I wonder if a little red colour on the lady would balance the piece but thats just my opinion...Gorgeous as it is though!

Thank you for your comments, very much appreciated

Paula thanks for that - I had the same thoughts hence I asked the question. I was thinking perhaps the flowers in her hair - and I will have a close look at her dress to see if there are any trimmings on it.

I thought the red a bit dominant, so wanted to 'tie' the picture image and that together to balance it out.

oh it is lovely and what a challenge...

I am going to have to agree with everyone else so far...I am thinking red in the flowers of her hair...if that ends up looking harsh maybe dust the image with a very light brown giving it more of a sepia feel than and black and white.

I can't wait to see the finished product!

This is fab, perfect as it is, personally I don't think I would add colour to her as being so pale reflects the Japanese feel from the paper and the lacquered red.
